Golf players will appreciate the 9-hole golf course in Swellendam with its inspiring view of the Langeberg. The greenfees are low, and this course is obviously much less busy than Cape Town courses.

Although only 9 holes this is an extremely good course and visitors are welcome.

DROSTDY MUSEUM :

The museum displays an exceptionally beautiful collection of furniture from the 18th and 19th century, including kitchen equipment, horse carriages etc. An extensive photo and picture collection illustrates the history of Swellendam.

TWO FEATHERS HORSE TRAILS:

Two Feathers offers scenic rides through forests, across rivers and along the foothills of the Langeberg mountain range. All levels of riders are welcome.

NG KERK:

There are many other buildings of historical and architectural significance in the town. The Dutch Reformed Church is an imposing building in the eclectic style in Voortrek Street . The Oefeningshuis was built in 1838 as a place of worship and a school for freed slaves - it now houses the Tourism Bureau.

Other buildings to see are The Old Boys School built in 1825, the Auld House which belonged to the Barry family, The Cottage and the Heemradenhuis (local council office).

WILDEBRAAM:

Wildebraam's private cellar produces a range of delicious liqeurs including Youngberry, Honey, Aniseed, Rooibo, Peppermint, Lemon and Hazelnut. In addition, the farm kitchen produces a tempting array of liqueured fruits, jams, dessert syrups, chutneys, relishes, pickles and gifts which can all be sampled and purchased in the infamous "tasting room".

It is so beautiful there that you will be sorely tempted to pick your own

SULINA FAIRY SANCTUARY:

This local attraction draws people from all over the country. Its not just a pottery - it's a Faerie Sanctuary! Faeries of various shapes, sizes, colours and styles are beautifully displayed in 4 rooms and then there are those that peep out from behind the foliage in the flourishing garden with its mini-jungle of indigenous trees, plants and herbs (many with healing properties). Love, peace and harmony needn't be a jaded cliché - here it is REAL! Re live your inner childhood - go and see it!
